CHEF Simon Rimmer will be serving up some of his favourite dishes at the Cheshire cookery school run by his friend and award-winning chef Brian Mellor.

The star of BBC Two show Something for the Weekend will be running a demonstration evening at the Brian Mellor Cookery School in Harthill from 6.30-9.30pm on November 10.

Simon, who has appeared at festivals with Brian for over a decade, will round the evening off by talking about his life as a restaurateur and becoming one of the nation’s favourite TV chefs.

Tickets are £25 and are available at www.brianmellor.co.uk or by calling 01829 782097.

Meanwhile, Brian has worked with seven children from Burwardsley, most of which attend Bishop Heber High School, to cook a three course dinner for more than 40 people.

The guests were parents and pupils who were involved with Harthill School more than 20 years ago.

Proceeds from evening, which was held at the cookery school on Monday, went to Burwardsley Church to help fund a much-needed new steeple.
