BROADCASTER, journalist and screenwriter Charlie Brooker is selling the Chester wall clock from his popular BBC shows Screenwipe and Newswipe.

It is being sold with the Mumbai and London clocks on internet auction site eBay to raise money for The Everyman Male Cancer Campaign.

The famous trio of timepieces are those that are seen on the wall behind him, in his flat, during each episode of his comic tele-dissections.

Charlie has written ‘100% official Newswipe/Screenwipe clock’ on the back, together with his autograph.

The clocks are described as radio-controlled Acctim timepieces which come with three printed paper signs (one goes on the wall under each clock) bearing the place names, jokingly adding that they ‘can tell the time in other cities and indeed rural areas.’’

As The Chronicle went to press, there were 30 bids from 15 bidders, with the price standing at £360 with £5.99 delivery from London.

There are more than 30 items up for auction for the cause, including a signed book by former Chester MP Gyles Brandreth.

The auction ends on Sunday, May 1 at 9pm. To bid, visit www.ebay.co.uk and search for ‘sod cancer’.
