AN INDIAN-THEMED night at a Chester restaurant raised almost £1,500 towards a charity trek up Kilimanjaro in aid of Save the Family.

Fabulous food, beautiful surroundings and great company made for a successful evening and all for a good cause.

Guests experienced a delicious three-course meal at the event for Rhiannon Thomson’s charity Kilimanjaro trek in September, in aid of the Chester-based charity for homeless families.

The event was made possible by former Your Champions nominee Bhupinder Lace, who organised and cooked the meal with the support of restaurant staff.

Rhiannon, 28, who is marketing director at The Spinney day nursery in Chester, said: “Bhupinder is just amazing! She has organised many of these events for charity and is a fabulous cook. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without her help and Eric and the team at 1539 were so friendly and helpful, which made the evening so enjoyable.”

Businesses including Doubletree Hilton, The Indian Brasserie, Ardens Quad Biking Chester and Chester Tandoori donated raffle prizes and the event raised £1,471 which will go towards the target of £4,000.
