LEAGUE football is back on the agenda after the summer break – and a charity match at the Deva will kick it off in style.

Colleagues from Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) and Buildbase will play at Chester FC’s stadium on Sunday, August 15, with kick off at 11am.

CDHT colleagues will donate money to play and have been raising money for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

The 90-minute game is organised by Brian Potts, stores manager at Buildbase. This is the second year of the event, with CDHT winning 4-0 last year.

Brian Potts said: “We really enjoyed last year’s game and look forward to playing again, particularly for such a worthy cause at a great location.”

Phil Jones, CDHT director of property services, added: “Last year’s game was a great event and this year promises to be a fantastic match and a bit of family friendly fun that we hope people will support. Despite the disappointment of England’s performance in the World Cup, this game should be competitive.”

Organiser Stella Williams, CDHT purchasing & performance manager, said: “Thanks very much to Chester FC for allowing us to use their ground, CDHT colleagues, Buildbase and Chester FC who have helped to bring this event together and of course thanks to the players, who have given up their time to raise money for this great cause.”

CDHT launched a new dedicated store in partnership with national builders’ merchant Buildbase in August 2008. It provides a dedicated trade counter service for the order and collection of materials for CDHT’s maintenance Technicians.

Buildbase is one of the UK’s fastest growing builders’ merchants and the partnership agreement means that Buildbase manages the operation of the dedicated store for CDHT.
