A YEAR'S worth of fundraising has returned a bumper £18,000 for a hospice.
Staff at moneysupermarket.com raised the cash over the past year for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, based at Backford.
The hospice was selected as the company’s nominated charity of the year in September last year following an all staff vote of potential local charities.
Over the past 12 months, staff have taken part in a variety of fundraising events from skydiving and charity fun runs to fancy dress days at the office, all in an effort to raise money for the charity.
Amanda Le Bretton of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd said: “We have been delighted to work closely with moneysupermarket.com over the past 12 months and their fundraising efforts have been outstanding. It has helped to make a huge difference to the specialised care we provide at Backford.”
Social committee chair at moneysupermarket.com, Sarah Hayden, said: “The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is a local charity which is close to the hearts of many of our staff. In a time of recession we are very proud to have raised such a fantastic amount.”
