FUNDRAISERS will be in the saddle next month to help raise funds for a hospital’s appeal.

The fourth annual Chester Bikeathon will see hundreds of charitable cyclists take part in the event on Sunday, June 21.

They will be aiming to raise £50,000 for the Countess of Chester Hospital’s Relative Comfort appeal.

Mike Broster, co-organiser of the event, said: “We are hoping to top what turned out to be a fantastic, if breezy, day last year when we raised £25,000.”

Each entrant will receive a T-shirt, drinks and biscuits on route, a commemorative medal and food at the finish.

Fundraising manager Kate Taylor said: “This is an excellent event that always raises a large amount of money for charity and we are extremely grateful to have the event’s support this year. It should be a great day.”

Tickets are £9 per rider or £32 per family. Entry forms are available at leisure centres, libraries, pubs and information points around the area.

Fundraisers can also join online at www.chesterbikeathon.co.uk.
