A MOBILE unit offering help and advice to people with eyesight problems will be visiting Widnes next week.

Vision Support's Mobile Resource Unit will be at Ditton Community Centre on Tuesday between 10am and 2.30pm, and will be staffed by trained advisers who will be available to give advice on the latest vision enhancing equipment.

Devices such as low vision aids and specialised text readers are among the many items on display, all of them designed to enhance the quality of life and maintain the independence of those with a visual impairment.

The vehicle itself is designed for easy access for people with disabilities including a removable ramp for wheelchair use.

Vision Support is a local charity which provides services to Halton residents who suffer from any degree of sight loss. These services include low vision aids and devices, Benefits advice, befriending services, technology training, counselling and social/recreational clubs.
