CHESTER rail enthusiasts will have the chance to travel on a famous steam locomotive next month.

For the first time, The Cathedrals Express will stop off on Chester en route to Holyhead on April 20.

The loco for the day is the A1 Class 60163 Tornado – a replica of a class completely scrapped in the 1960s.

The £3m engine hit TV screens in 2009 when it was the star of a Top Gear race to Edinburgh, where Jeremy Clarkson helped to fire the locomotive as it raced from Kings Cross to the Scottish capital.

Fares range from £79 to £185. For more details, call 01483 209888.
