SPECIALIST care developer and building services provider Castlemead Group Limited has received planning permission for a 74-bedroom care home in Chester.

The development, a 40,000 sq ft care facility, which is set to open in summer 2015, will adjoin the Countess of Chester Hospital, and forms part of a development providing new housing and a new pub for residents.

Developed and constructed by Castlemead, the nursing home will be handed over to Sanctuary Care who will operate the home when it opens to residents.

Tony Cole, business development director for Castlemead, said: “It has taken over five years to unlock this site as part of a comprehensive mixed use scheme but the persistence was worth it.

“We are delighted to have been able to deliver a landmark site which will provide an £8m investment in specialist nursing and dementia care for the residents of Chester.”
