A VILLAGE pub car park will soon be good as new with the news a grant has been secured towards much-needed works.
Cheshire Rural Recovery Programme has offered the cash to help repair Tarvin's George and Dragon car park on condition a number of criteria have been met. The grant of £7,250, or 50% of the actual costs if lower than £14,500, is subject to the following conditions:
The drainage issue should be resolved before work is carried out. This is the subject of ongoing dialogue between Cheshire County Council Highways department and the brewery.
Individual parking spaces should be clearly marked out with a specific bay identified as disabled parking.
A signed agreement should be made between the parish council and the brewery.
The edges of the car park should be tidied up before work is carried out.
The brewery has been informed of the offer and conditions and has accepted them.

Change of use to form realignment of driveway, new garage/store. Alterations to existing farm house to create playroom and ensuite to bedroom at Cross Lanes Farm, Cross Lanes, Tarvin - No objections. The motion was carried by four votes to two with one abstention.
Lounge extension at 25 Platts Lane, Tarvin - No objections.
Extension at 2 Gowy Crescent, Tarvin - No objection to the extension but concern that there are no arrangements for off street parking.
Lounge extension at 79 Crossfields, Tarvin - No objections.
Extension at Ty Ni, Shay Lane, Oscroft - No objections.
External raised patio area at Red Lion, High Street, Tarvin - No objection to the patio area but concerned about the loss of the car parking area.
Replace tin roof with slates and timber windows and doors as per originals, repairs to stone walls and brick floor with insulated concrete slab at 76 High Street, Tarvin - No objection.
A large container had been placed in the garden behind 1 Park Close, Tarvin. It was agreed that Cllr Barbara Roberts should ask the enforcement officer whether permission was required.
The clerk Mike Hassall will ask the Highways Department to correct the time clock after a streetlight on Tarporley Road, Tarvin, was reported to be on during the day.
