A CLOTTON care home is through to the semi final of a gardening competition.
Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View Community part of national care home provider Barchester Healthcare, is through to semi-final stage of the national Barchester in Bloom gardening competition.
The competition, now in its fifth year, aims to promote the imaginative planting of flowers, trees and shrubs in the gardens of its homes to create positive environments for their residents and relatives to enjoy.
The green-fingered staff and residents of the Iddenshall Hall have been competing against 200 Barchester homes across the UK, and have now been whittled down to one of 26 semi-finalists.
The home now faces the anticipation of the final, which takes place on the September 22. Residents from the finalist homes will meet Charlie Dimmock, who will be presenting the prizes at an awards luncheon at The Hurlingham Club in Fulham.
Ann Hull General Manager said: “We’re thrilled to get shortlisted for the semi-finals, we are through to four of the five categories.”
