RETROSPECTIVE approval was sought for a car wash at a former petrol filling station in the borough’s green belt.

The application was made at Sutton Weaver Service Station on Chester Road, Sutton, Frodsham, by Mr Barzazan Asmael.

Mr Asmael told borough planners the wash would operate seven days a week from 9am to 6pm. Up to four staff could be required and there would be three jet washes and two vacuum cleaners.

Customers would bring their cars for valeting or for a wash and there would be no traffic jams.

The car wash uses the petrol station canopy and the filling station shop, according to a report.

There is a purpose built raised washing area with a cleaning area under the canopy. The shop is used as a reception, a staff room waiting area and for storage.

No objections were raised by Sutton Parish Council or by the highway authority.

The application was recommended for approval and the borough council agreed the car wash could have permission.
