Rush hour traffic near the notorious Posthouse roundabout in Chester was hit by a three-vehicle collision this morning (Wednesday, February 11).

A car and two HGV lorries were involved in the incident between junction 39 of the A55 and junction 38 westbound between the A41 and A483 Posthouse roundabout exits shortly after 7.30am.

A spokesman for Cheshire police said paramedics attended to deal with 'what are believed to be minor injuries'.

A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service, which arrived on scene at 7.45am, said: "We have taken one person to the Countess of Chester Hospital.

"There was a male with a dislocated finger and a female complaining of muscle pain."

"There is currently one lane open with slow moving traffic on the A55 towards Wrexham, however traffic is going back to the M56 and motorists are advised to avoid the area," he said.
