A CHESTER charity is targeting the North West in a new campaign to recruit more adopters across the region.
Adoption Matters Northwest (AMNW) has this week announced the launch of its ‘pop-up’ adoption agency for National Adoption Week 2012.
The agency will arrive in Chester tomorrow (Friday) for a free information event at the town hall between 10am and 4pm.
Social workers will be on hand to provide insight into the adoption process from start to finish.
AMNW chief executive Norman Goodwin said: “There are about 7,000 children in care in the UK who want nothing more than to be part of a loving family.
“The sad fact is that, despite the hard work of voluntary agencies and local authorities, there simply aren’t enough adopters coming forward.”
The five-day roadshow will see adoption experts travel across Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire, hosting a number of free information days to help dispel the myths surrounding adoption.
