CADETS from Runcorn, Widnes and Frodsham attended Cheshire Army Cadet Force’s recent annual camp at Barry Buddon in Scotland.
A total of 263 cadets from the county undertook a variety of activities ranging from canoeing to orienteer- ing and survival skills.
On the first day, a group of senior cadets set out on their gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition, a gruelling 50-mile hike through the Scottish Highlands carrying their food, shelter and clothing.
Lt Peterson, the officer supporting the group, said: “I was so impressed with all of the cadets. Despite difficult conditions they remained positive and through teamwork and determination all got to the finish.”
Another group of cadets took part in their Senior Cadet Instructors Cadre, where they learned leadership skills.Through out the course they were assessed by the Regular soldiers of 28 Cadet Training Team.
