A CHESTER father says his daughter could have been killed when a car crashed through fencing into his garden in the middle of the night.

The vehicle fell 10ft from Sea Hill Road in Saughall into Nicholas Roberts's garden in Yew Tree Avenue at about 3am on Sunday, crashing into his seven-year-old daughter Leah's swing.

Mr Roberts said: 'My partner was woken up by a loud bang and thought somebody was trying to break in. We went out and saw the car alight and a guy running.

'My daughter used to camp in the spot where the car landed and if this had happened over the summer she could easily have been killed.'

Mr Roberts moved into the newly built property with partner Anoushka Cogan in March.

He said: 'I want something done about the situation. Despite this recently becoming a residential area, the national speed limit still applies.

'I have spoken to Flintshire County Council and they said that the housing developer should have built barriers along the stretch of road.'

Fire crews from Deeside and Chester tackled the blaze and had to run foam through the fire to get it under control. After an hour they had put it out, and the car was removed the next morning.

Police attended the incident and a man, believed to be the driver of the vehicle, was taken to the Countess with minor injuries.
