Hats off to Chester Races - the 2016 season is here and tickets are already selling very well.
But it will be hats on for any woman Roodee-bound on Ladies Evening, on Friday, June 26.
If you want to look like a real Lady you are going to need a hat, or a fascinator, so here is where to look to get ahead of the game.
You might get some inspiration from this gallery of photographs from Ladies Day in May.
To Buy
The Hat Place
On Northgate Street, just opposite the library, offers a range of ladies formal occasions hats in a variety of styles and colours
Accessorize
There is one on Eastgate Street and another at Cheshire Oaks. You might even find a bag to go with it too.
Browns of Chester
Otherwise known as Debenhams on Eastgate Street, there is usually a range of hats and fascinators to choose from in the first floor department and if you are lucky enough to shop during a Blue X sale you might pick up a bargain. There is also a branch on the Coliseum Retail Park in Ellesmere Port.
British Home Stores and Marks & Spencer
If you haven’t even started with your outfit the Foregate Street stores not only stock a range of headgear but might be able to provide the dress, shoes and bag to match. There is also an outlet M&S store in Cheshire Oaks where you may pick up a bargain.
To Hire
Of course you don’t have to buy a hat. You could ask around friends and family to see if anyone would lend you the perfect match to your carefully chosen outfit or even try hiring one.
Felicity Hat Hire in Chester used to have a store in Boughton but according to their website, the service is now available from home. Contact Trish on 07703 107627 or: email trish@felicityhatschester.co.uk for more details. If you like theire Facebook page, you may also be in for a bargain.
