FLEDGLING pop star Inigo Byrne is to perform at a Hallowe’en party to raise money for a local charity.

The 17-year-old, who released his debut album aged just 13, will be playing at the Tarvin Pre-School fancy dress party on November 1 to raise money for a new building.

Inigo - real name Dominic - is about to release his new album Life in General and is currently getting ready for a tour of China in 2009.

The former Chester Cathedral chorister, who lives in Tarvin with parents James and Lesley and siblings Rory and Charlotte, is keen to help the nursery raise money.

He said: “My little brother went to this nursery ten years ago. He loved it. I want to make sure that other children benefit the way Rory did. He had a fabulous time.”

A registered charity, the nursery provides day care during term time and a holiday club, but relies on fundraising to ensure its survival.

The event has promoted Inigo to join up with three local residents to form new band The Exchange.

Drummer Dave Thorp, a commercial property solicitor with Nantwich firm Bowcock Cuerden, is a parent of children at the nursery. He said: “Parents of children at the nursery are delighted to have Inigo play at this much-needed fund raising function. We are hopeful that many local people will want to join in the fun on the night.”

Bass player Tim Bird, also a parent of children at the nursery, said: “We don’t anticipate going to China with Inigo on his tour but do hope to be backing him on future occasions locally. I am sure that the fancy dress Hallowe’en party will be a real night to remember.”

Tickets for the fancy dress Halloween Ball (over 18s only) are priced at £12.50 and can be purchased from Sharon on 01829 741 166. For further information on fundraising for Tarvin preschool, contact Lyn Jackson on 01829 741011.
