Broughton Shopping Park is set to receive a makeover that will see the site and its 29 shops given a dramatic facelift.

The revamp, which will begin in September, will see new double height shop fronts installed, walkways widened and pedestrian links and customer facilities improved, including a newly resurfaced car park.

It comes following the opening of the brand new 11-screen Cineworld cinema in May, which boasts North Wales’ first and only IMAX screen.

While the shopping park has also welcomed new restaurants in the last year including Nando’s, Chiquito, Prezzo, Pizza Express and Frankie & Benny’s.

Shopping park officials say that the multi-million pound expansion to the site has massively boosted trade and now nine million people visit it every year.

The refurbishment plans are the latest announcement by Broughton Shopping Park, after it revealed that a brand new line-up of shops are set to open their doors over the next six months, including Primark, M&S Foodhall, Specsavers and a new Outfit store.

Colin Gilligan, centre manager at Broughton Shopping Park, said: “This is a fantastic year for the park, with a whole host of new openings ranging from fashion retailers, restaurants and the only IMAX cinema in the region.

“We’re now attracting visitors from up to a 45 minute drive away, so it felt like the right time to give the park a refresh. The enhancements will make it an even more enjoyable environment to shop, eat and be entertained.”
