Broughton & Bretton Allotment Association are opening their gates to visitors in aid of the National Gardens Scheme charity.

The 56 half plot allotments will be open from 1-5pm this Sunday, July 17 and there will be a wide variety of soft fruit, veg and flowers for cutting to see.

There is always a good community spirit and allotments holders will be happy to answer any questions.

Homemade teas will be available at the War Memorial Institute and there will be a stall selling seasonal produce, jam and plants.

The NGS raised £2.6 million in 2015 for nursing, caring and garden charities, main beneficiaries being Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Hospice UK and the Carers Trust.

The allotments are on Main Road, Broughton and admission is £3, with children free.

Parking is at the War Memorial Institute on the main road.
