A QUIZ team from the borough council has once again retained their title as quiz champions of the North West.
For the 15th time in the contest's 18 years, the masterminds have won the annual quiz organised by trade union Unison.
They beat other Unison members from across the region at this year's event, at John Moores University in Liverpool.
Team captain Norman Hudson, the council's senior committee officer, said: 'Ellesmere Port and Neston's record in this competition is quite remarkable for such a small Unison branch. There are less than 400 members in it and each year we compete against others, like Wirral and Burnley, many times our size.'
The other members of the victorious squad were Tim Davies, Vince Hollender, Shaun McDonnell and Miles Veitch.
