A NEW book has been produced warning young people in Chester about the danger of drugs and alcohol.
Primary school pupils in Chester will be the first in the UK to receive copies of a new book entitled Barney and the Magic Mirror.
The book is the second in the Barney and Echo series produced by the Northern branch of the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain Ltd (PCCGB), based in Chester.
The books follow the adventures of Barney Eagle and Echo Squirrel as they help their three forest friends get out of trouble.
Thanks to sponsorship, the PCCGB is able to supply Barney and Echo books to local schools free of charge.
Ellesmere Port Fire Station is one of the sponsors and supported the delivery of books to primary schools in the area.
The first book in the series tackled bullying and vandalism and 50,000 primary schools across the UK received copies.
The books are designed to be used at home or in the classroom and feature activities for children at Key Stage 1 and 2.
