As firework displays lit up the night sky across Cheshire hard-working firefighters faced hostility and abuse as they tackled raging and abandoned bonfires.

This Bonfire Night (November 5) Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended over 100 incidents and received more than 1,000 calls across the county.

In Ellesmere Port crews were faced with one of the busiest night's of the year, as youths threw fireworks in the streets and rockets were aimed at passing cars.
