One of the North West’s most successful family events, Bolesworth International has announced its fundraising partnership with the Neuro Therapy Centre in Saltney, a charity supporting people across North Wales, Cheshire and Wirral.

The event team will work hard to raise funds for this important cause during the four-day family extravaganza taking place in the grounds of Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire from June 16-19.

Several members of the Bolesworth International event team, including show director Nina Barbour, visited the centre to take part in a physiotherapy class and to find out more about how the money raised will make a life-changing difference.

The Neuro Therapy Centre is based in Saltney and provides practical support and therapies to help manage the symptoms of a wide range of neurological conditions including MS, Parkinson’s, MND and ME.

Nina Barbour said: “We are so pleased to be working with the Neuro Therapy Centre, this local charity provides such vital physical and emotional support to those living with neurological conditions and their families.

Many riders across the world have been affected by devastating neurological conditions and we know that our competitors and spectators will really get behind our work with this important charity. We want to help in any way we can and our team have plenty of exciting new ideas for raising much-needed funds during our four-day event.”

Neurological conditions are caused by damage to the brain, spinal column or nerves, either from illness or injury. They can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity, and their impact is life-changing.

Although neurological conditions are incurable, a huge amount can be done to manage symptoms and maintain quality of life. Something as simple as regular physiotherapy can make a huge difference, helping people stay mobile and independent.

Neil Kemsley, chairman of the trustees at the Neuro Therapy Centre, said: “We are thrilled to have been named as a charity partner for Bolesworth International in June. The centre has been in existence for more than 30 years and has grown and developed significantly over that time.

“We are proud of the services that we are able to offer to support people with a wide range of neurological conditions, who often receive very little support from traditional health services after diagnosis. There is no regular support – that is why the therapies and support offered at the centre are so vital.

“We have to raise more than £400,000 just to operate each year and we know that there are many more people that need our services, as we are the only centre offering this support throughout North Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral. This will be a fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness of our work and show the impact that we have in the region.”

Bolesworth International is a family spectacular combining world-class show jumping with family entertainment and live music. Children under 14 can go for free.
