The team at Bolesworth International showjumping event in Cheshire will be opening the gates to school children for free this summer for the annual Schools Day on Thursday, June 16.

This unique event will take place at Bolesworth Castle and is open for all school children across the North West to enter, with school group bookings organised in conjunction with senior teaching staff.

The incredibly popular Schools Day aims to open up the show to a wider audience and to give local children an opportunity to experience the thrilling atmosphere of a world class international sporting event.

School children will be able to watch sporting greats compete in the heart of their county and may even get the chance to meet their heroes in the new Equine Learning Zone, including several Olympic medalists and the best show jumpers on the international circuit.

There will be plenty of educational and fun activities taking place around the showground including curriculum-themed lessons and activities. Animal lovers will be keen to get up close to the exotic reptile and arachnid shows, birds of prey displays and the much-loved dog shows.

And for those wanting to get close to nature and get their hands dirty, there will be practical forestry workshops, wildlife classes and adventurous nature trails around the grounds of Bolesworth Castle.

Finally the high-energy climbing walls, indoor caves and fun fair rides will be open for children to use throughout the day.

Last year’s Schools Day was a huge success with more than 800 children enjoying an action packed day at Bolesworth International. For 2016 the school children will also be able to head back to the show with family and friends over the weekend for just £12 per adult on the Thursday and Friday and £18 on the Saturday and Sunday (kids under 14 go free).
