A bogus caller at homes in Neston has led to police issuing a warning.
A man turned up on Friday, May 13, at 10pm and tried to get into a victim’s house after saying he was from the ‘water board’.
The caller had claimed to need to get inside the property so he could inspect a manhole.
Cheshire Police advise to never let unknown people into your home.
Ellesmere Port West and Neston PCSO Linda Conway said: “Always ask for identification and if you are at all unsure, ask them to call back at a later date. A genuine caller will understand.
“Inform a neighbour or a friend so that they can be with you.”
The male was described as white, of stocky build and he wore a red top with orange details on. No vehicle was seen.
