CHESTER FC fans will turn the city centre into a sea of blue and white on Saturday when they salute their championship-winning heroes.

An eagerly-anticipated open top bus tour for the Blues squad, who secured promotion from the Evo-Stik First Division North in a remarkable debut season for the fan-owned club, will begin at the Exacta Stadium at 10.15am.

From there it will head through the city centre before finishing at the Town Hall steps at 10.40am, where players and management will show off the league trophy and give speeches to the crowd.

They will then join volunteers and sponsors for a civic reception hosted by new Lord Mayor of Chester, Eleanor Johnson.

The exact route for the parade is Bumpers Lane, Sealand Road, South View Road, Canal Street, Northgate Street, St Werburgh Street, Eastgate Street and then back into Northgate Street.

For safety reasons Northgate Street will be closed at its junction with Hunter Street between 10-11.30am.

Waiting and parking will also be prohibited on St Werburgh Street and Northgate Street, from its junction with Hunter Street, between 6.30-11.30am.
