PROUD parents at a Chester high school attended an exhibition of pupils’ GCSE work.

The event, at Blacon High last week, showcased items designed and produced by the year 10 and 11 design technology groups.

Teacher Nicky Sherwen said: “I am so proud of how they have come together and worked hard to complete their projects.

“This is a particularly good group and this is the first year we have opened it up to parents. It was such a success that we intend to do it every year now.”

The work was produced by 26 Year 11 and 22 Year 10 pupils, with more than 50 parents in attendance to view the completed projects during the event.

Singled out for praise by Miss Sherwen were Mark Weatherley’s mood lighting and Jack Over’s chess set.

She also congratulated technician Tony Ash for his hard work, adding: “He did a brilliant job, but he is quite relieved it is all over!”
