A winning lottery ticket, a Roman Gladiator’s outfit, a chocolate penguin, a telescope, and dung from Chester Zoo are just some of the items that make the 2014 Travelodge list of Bizarre Left Behinds in Chester.
Across the UK, some of the more bizarre items include a prenuptial agreement, deeds to a £2m house, a set of exclusive trial yoghurt flavours that have not been launched to the public, a £5,000 Vera Wang wedding dress and a pet tarantula called Hercules.
Shakila Ahmed of Travelodge said: “Each year our lost and found inventory report provides plenty of revelations. From deeds to a £2m house, a set of 24 carat gold Indian Gods and a Vertu mobile phone right through to a pet tarantula and even exclusive yoghurt flavours which have not even been launched to the public, it’s evident what a cross section of people stay in our 500 hotels.
“Our 2013 left behind register also reveals how much smart technology has become a part of our everyday lives, as we have had nearly 10,000 tablets and smartphones left behind in our hotels in the last 12 months. This is a significant increase from previous years.
“What is becoming evident after speaking to our customers is that the pace of life has become so fast and we are so eager to get from A to B that valuable posessions are easily being forgotten.”
Other more bizarre items left behind at Travelodge hotels in Chester during 2013 include: a telescope, a diamond ring, a photo album which contained images from four generations and a winning lottery ticket where the customer had won £5,000.
In the Warrington Road hotel in Mickle Trafford a large (2ft) chocolate penguin and a suitcase containing bridesmaids outfits were left behind.
