NEW Year’s Day welcomed its fair share of newborn babies at both the Countess of Chester hospital and Wrexham’s Maelor Hospital.
In the early hours of January 1 baby Jared Lester made an entrance much to the delight of his Ellesmere Port mum Josephine Pagtalunan. He weighed in at a healthy 6lb 5oz at 2.48am at the Countess of Chester hospital.
Less than an hour later Tracy Grove and Anthony Murillo welcomed their first daughter Chenelle at 3.40am. Also of Ellesmere Port, Chenelle, at 8lb 9oz is a sister for brothers Dean and Cyle.
Dad Anthony, who works for the railway in Bolton, arrived home at 1pm on New Year’s Eve to find everything fine.
“The baby wasn’t due until January 2,” he said. “At about 5pm Tracy was in a bit a pain and then by half nine I decided to take the lads to their nan and grandad’s. We were at the hospital by 10pm and she was born not that long afterwards.”
Twenty miles away and still before sunrise, Felicity Maria Townsend was born to Eccleston mum Edwina at 6.10am at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Just before the day was out delighted Blacon mum Mandy Burke gave birth to a 7lb 5oz daughter, Ruby Roberts, at 11.44pm
