VOLUNTEERS from the Canal Boat Adventure Project are heading for the Arctic Circle to raise money for Hope House Children's Hospice.

Ged Miley and Andrew Gilbert intend to embark on the trip on their motorbikes on Thursday, August 17.

Young people from the Project's Nessie Club have been involved in organising the challenge and, with the help of local Rotary clubs, have orchestrated a sponsored jail break on Saturday, July 22, to boost fundraising.

Three cells at Run-corn Police Station have been reserved for local dignitaries, who will be arrested, charged and locked up. Only when each 'prisoner' has secured bail will they be released.

The event is being sponsored by Wire FM.
