A BICKLEY man was injured after his car was stolen from his drive whilst he was defrosting it.

On Saturday (November 27) a 57-year-old man, started his car on Cholmondeley Rise, Bickley, before going back into his house to get some de-icer.

As he came back out of the house he saw a young man reversing it off the driveway.

The victim jumped onto the bonnet of the black Saab 93 and was carried a few hundred yards down the road before falling off.

The car was then driven away at speed turning right onto Back lane.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his back, head and wrist as a result of the fall.

Detective Constable Paul Nolan from Chester CID said: “Fortunately the victim was not seriously hurt as a result of this incident but it could have been much worse.

“If anyone saw a black 06 registered Saab 93 being driven erratically around the time of the theft, please call me.

“May this incident also act as a reminder to residents not to start your car and then leave it unattended in these icy conditions.”

The offender is described as white, aged 22 to 23 years, around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build. He had blonde hair.
