AUCTIONEER company Wright-Manley is expecting another bumper crop of fresh turkeys and geese at its annual poultry sale.

Buyers pour in from across Cheshire and further afield to snap up one of the free-range birds to put on their festive table.

About 800 turkeys and 200 geese and ducks will go under the hammer at the poultry fair, which takes place at 5.30pm on Wednesday, December 22.

“We’re expecting hundreds of entries again this year,” said auctioneer Richard Goodwin.

“If anyone wants to enter their birds for the sale they can call me on 01829 262100.”

The auction takes place at Beeston Market, which has plenty of parking to accommodate the hundreds of buyers expected.
