A talented singer songwriter who has received wide acclaim on BBC Radio 2 will be returning to her Cheshire sixth form college to perform with her band.

Megan Dixon Hood will be at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form on Thursday (January 21).

The former SJD student, from Congleton, will perform with her band in the college theatre.

Her latest piano ballad, entitled ‘Early Morning Riser’ recently caught the attention of Sir Terry Wogan who played it on air as an exclusive on BBC Radio 2 Sunday lunchtime show Weekend Wogan.

On the back of that, Megan has also been interviewed live on Radio Oxford.

Megan, 19, is in her third year as a songwriting student at The British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) in Manchester.

The gig starts at 7.30pm and is free for students and £2 for guests.

Another former SJD student Sam Lyon will be Megan’s support act.
