Chester will grace the small screen when an episode of a consumer advice show recorded in the city airs this month.

Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis and consumer champion Dom Littlewood drew large crowds when they filmed scenes for Right On The Money at The Cross in April.

The second series of the BBC One vehicle sees the presenting pair hit the road to help viewers spend their pennies more wisely.

The episode filmed in Chester, in which they save one mum from making a big mistake with her car finance, will hit screens at 9.15am on Wednesday, July 20, but the programme makes its comeback for a two-week run on Monday, July 11.

Crowds gathered to watch the recording

Dom Littlewood said: “Last year we helped a lot of people save themselves some serious cash – so I’m excited the show is back to do even better this time round.

“We’ve packed the series full of tips and ideas that can work for anyone – and best of all, they’re really simple too.”

Each show will feature the team transforming the finances of households and explore the psychology of spending, as well as the unexpected ways that some people have been able to maximise their cash.

Series producer Janette Clucas said: “The whole area of personal finance can be something that many of us struggle to deal with, for whatever reason.

“But the fantastic thing about this series is that it shows you how, by making very simple changes, anyone can save hundreds, if not thousands of pounds.”
