CARE home residents received a flying visit from seven feathered friends.
After a visit from Molly the donkey last month, residents at CLS Care Home, Wealstone Lane, Upton, Chester, welcomed yet more unusual guests into their home when renowned bird man, Barn Owl Bill, dropped by with seven birds.
During the visit residents had the chance to handle a variety of species, including a tawny owl, a Eurasian eagle owl, and a barn owl.
Residents enjoyed handling the tame birds, while listening to interesting stories and facts about the creatures. Barn Owl Bill also got the owls to perform a number of tricks.
Barn owl Bill’s visit to Wealstone is just one of the many exciting events to be arranged by the home’s dedicated activity co-ordinator, John Harding, throughout the year.
Residents enjoy a full social calendar with activities reflecting their individual hobbies and interests, such as bingo, visiting entertainers and musicians, clothes shows and day trips.
Staff at Wealstone believe that giving residents the option to participate in a variety of activities is key to creating a friendly and sociable atmosphere, where residents are encouraged to stay active.
