THE Belgrave Infant School community has been digging the dirt.

Parents, children, staff and friends of the Westminster Park school took part in a School Grounds Day to make the woods more accessible.

Headteacher Deanne Garratt said: “The main mission of the day was to make bark paths in the woods so that they can be used by the children all year round. We also planted trees, planted up pots and cleared overgrown areas.

“It was a wonderful family day which was made extra special by local artist Wendy Amner who helped the children make brightly coloured bugs for the trees.”

The school’s PTA provided refreshments throughout the day to keep up the stamina of the workforce.
