A WORKSHOP for disabled people has reaped the benefits of investments of time and money from bank workers.

Staff from Barclays, at Gad-brook Park, have completed a number of projects for the Petty Pool Trust over the last few months including renovating the pets corner, clearing a woodland walkway and, this week, creating a sensory garden with a gazebo to be used as a quiet area for its students.

The estates and trusts department at Barclays voted the Trust its nominated charity and staff have carried out various fundraisers which Barclays matches pound for pound.

Petty Pool chief executive Peter Evans said: 'Barclays has made a major difference to our centre with the projects that the staff have already completed, which enhances the education and development of our students in a tremendous way.'

Richard Stocken, of Barclays, said: 'Up to date Barclays has contributed around £10,000 in time and materials. Over the next months I hope my staff will make further contributions by volunteering for two further projects to renovate the bird and badger hides.' RS110805CLIMB
