ACCOUNTANTS from across the UK will descend on Chester tomorrow (Friday) to take part in a sports day fundraiser.

More than 300 staff members from Baker Tilly will take part in the family event at Cheshire County Sports Club, Upton, in a bid to raise £25,000 for a number of charities.

The Chester branch of Baker Tilly will team up with staff from the firm’s Warrington and Liverpool offices to raise money for the Prince’s Trust.

They will take on four other teams, including one of office managing partners. Each team is committed to raising £5,000 for a chosen charity.

Jill Jones, managing partner at the Chester office of Baker Tilly, said: “Everyone here in Chester is looking forward to the event. It should be a lot of fun and a great opportunity to spend time with and compete against our colleagues in other Baker Tilly offices.”

Teams will be competing in a variety of activities from egg and spoon races to netball.

Other charities supported by the event are The Duke of Edinburgh Award, Help the Hospices, The British Heart Foundation and Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres.
