A NORTHWICH man who breached his bail order to be with his sick girlfriend has been remanded in custody.

Gary Bloor, 23, of no fixed abode, appeared before Vale Royal magistrates on Thursday for breaching bail after a charge of theft,

The court heard how Bloor had been staying at Bunbury House bail hostel under a 12-hour curfew order commencing at 7pm.

But on June 20 he failed to comply with that curfew and remained absent from the hostel for six days.

Chris Johnson, defending, said Bloor had broken his bail order to look after his pregnant girlfriend, who was ill.

Mr Johnson said Bloor had phoned the hostel to explain the situation but that it had been pointed out to him that regardless of excuse, if he was late for his curfew then it would be considered a breach, so he decided to not attend at all.

He was found by police at his girlfriend's home on Parkfield Road, Northwich, and refused to come out. Magistrates remanded him in custody for a case review, with a pre-trial review taking place later this month.
