AN ANNUAL charity event is going back to school in a bid to raise money.

Jonathan Fell, company director of Cheshire Farm Ice Cream in Tattenhall, is hosting the ‘Back to School Party’ at Chester Racecourse this Saturday to raise funds for the Clatterbridge Your Cancer Centre.

The event, now in its fifth year, encourages its attendees to raid their wardrobes for their old school shirts, ties and knee-high socks and have as much fun as possible with the help of live bands Moses and Chester girl group Indigo City.

Mr Fell has been a keen supporter of local charities in recent years, and as a member of the Tattenhall Charity Ball Committee, has helped raise in excess of £80,000 for various charities through the Back To School parties and Tattenhall Charity Ball, which celebrates its ten year anniversary on May 19.

This year both events are raising money for Clatterbridge patients and their families.

Mr Fell said: “There are so many people close to us or that we know who have benefited from the treatment provided by the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

“This year’s partnership with Chester Racecourse will ensure that we can raise a large amount of money that we hope will go some way towards helping this worthy cause, ensuring that these brave patients and their families get the support that they really need.”
