A Crewe-based company raised £3,000 in just one week for the special care baby unit at Leighton Hospital.

Employees at Lifestyle Services Group took part in a five-day charity challenge to raise as much money as possible for Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity’s One in Eleven Appeal.

They have now handed over the money to the fund, which aims to help equip the new neo-natal unit at the hospital.

During the week of fundraising, employees from the firm held collections at Sainsbury’s in Nantwich, Asda in Crewe and Bridgemere Garden Centre and there was a fun day involving more than 1,000 employees which included a raffle, tombola and cake stall.

Employee Joanne Wilson, whose daughter Mia spent three weeks being cared for at Leighton’s neonatal unit, said: “We had such a fantastic time fundraising for the appeal and would like to thank the suppliers of our raffle prizes including Blue Bell BMW, Hilton, Rookery Hall and many company suppliers. We’d also like to thank our employees for getting involved and raising so much for a very worthy cause.”

The total amount raised also included a £500 donation from a supplier, a TV donated to be used on the new unit and a generous boost from LSG.
