AN award winning green fingered duo are once again opening their garden to the public in aid of charity.

Alan Bourne and Paul Philpotts will open their garden in Threapwood near Malpas to the public this weekend (Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July).

Their garden featured on the BBC Two programme Open Gardens 2007, it has also won Chester in Bloom Best large garden twice, and won the Chronicle newspapers large garden category, in the Year of the Garden 2008 competition.

The garden is situated at the Rowans in Oldcastle Lane, Threapwood near Malpas SY14 7AY and is open between 2pm and 5.30pm.

Alan said: “The garden features almost an acre of mature feature trees, numerous areas, and has an Italian theme.

He added: “We hope everyone can help make this a success once again.”

Visitors will have the chance to explore the garden and Alan and Paul will be on hand to answer any horticultural queries about the garden.

Admission is £3.50 per adult and children go free, with proceeds go to the National Garden Scheme charities and tea and cake proceeds go to Hope House Hospice for Children.
