NOW on sale at the Chronicle is the latest in the best-selling Memory Lane Crewe series by photographer Gordon Davies and we are of opportunity to get their copy of the book personally signed by the author.
He will be at the Chronicle office at 32-43 Victoria Street, Crewe, between 10am and noon tomorrow (Thursday), to sign copies of Memory Lane Crewe, including Nantwich: Volume Five.
It contains hundreds of photographs with captions -of people and places in South Cheshire within living memory.
Retired Chronicle photographer Gordon, 73, of Rigg Street, Crewe, has compiled four Memory Lane Crewe books, a Memory Lane Nantwich and a Crewe Alexandra Remembered book.
He said: 'We are told we can only go forward but after my first Memory Lane Crewe book was so well received, I decided the people of Crewe must have a curiosity about the local past especially a past in pictures.
'The book has photographs recording the way we lived in the 19th and 20th Centuries, the jobs of work we did, the changing fashions, the games played and parties enjoyed.'
Memory Lane Crewe, including Nantwich: Volume Five is be priced at £14.99.
Gordon will be signing copies of his new book on Saturday between 11am and noon at Ottakar's Bookstore in Victoria Street, Crewe, and from 1 to 2pm at Nantwich Bookshop in High Street, Nantwich.
