ASPIRING young chefs have enjoyed national recognition thanks to sponsorship from Frodsham and Helsby Rotary Club.
For the third year running the Rotary Club has proudly sponsored students from Helsby High who are aiming to cook their way to becoming the Young Chef of the Year.
And for one aspiring chef this year’s competition ended with the opportunity to work in a professional kitchen.
After competing in the regional finals at Hopwood Hall College in Rochdale, Robert Waring was highly praised by the judges.
Robert had battled through three rounds of intense competitions to reach the regional finals, originally cooking against his classmates and students from neighbouring high schools to progress to the Rotary District Final.
Robert won a place in the regional competition, ensuring second spot by preparing a three-course meal in two hours, and beating 15 other aspiring young chefs.
