An aspiring model from Chester has set her sights on being crowned Miss British Isles.

Lucy Clarke, 18, will represent the city as Miss Chester 2016 in the competition at The Hilton in Liverpool on March 20.

Determined Lucy has ambitions to make it in the industry and will go up against models from across the country to win the top prize, which includes a modelling contract.

She said: “I’m really excited, I’ve put in a lot of hard work and done a lot of preparations to make sure I’m ready.

“It’s the biggest competition I’ve been asked to do, but I’m confident and looking forward to it.”

Miss Chester has managed to balance her intensive preparations while studying fashion at West Cheshire College and working part-time at the Cheshire Oaks Warehouse store.

Family support

Lucy’s whole family will be behind her with parents and grandparents going along for support during the competition in Liverpool, according to mum Tracy Swarbrick.

Tracy said: “I’m very proud of Lucy because she has put the work in and pushed herself very hard to get to where she is.

“She only started modelling in January so it’s all happened quite quickly, but she’s taking it all in her stride and is very determined.

“It’s all she wants to do and I think the competition is going to be a great platform for her and a great learning experience.”

Lucy is being sponsored by Malachi Photography and makeup artist Cathryn Kerwin-Rawlinson.
