PIRATES and princesses took the places of staff and children at Ashton House Nursery as part of Children in Need.
All week the staff and children dressed up as either a pirate or princess for the charity event at the Ashton Hayes nursery. They also baked cakes and biscuits every day to sell to parents and friends to make extra money.
The week culminated on Friday with the opportunity to become TV stars as they took part in the BBC’s North West Children in Need coverage.
Staff and children travelled to the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port where they appeared both on North West Tonight and the later BBC coverage.
Owner of the nursery Jack Sheppard said: “The children and staff loved dressing up and it was a really fun week, and we managed to raise a massive £516.36. We are delighted.
He added: “The money was raised through donations as well as the cake and biscuit sales.
“We inquired about going on the BBC coverage and were very lucky to get the chance.”
