PATIENTS have been dipping a toe into the art world in the waiting room of Middlewich's podiatrists.

The Accord Clinic in Hightown has become a haven for local painters keen to show off their work.

Frances Cowper, 55, is a podiatrist at the clinic who decided her patients should have something other than blank walls to stare at.

'There are more and more people bringing in their work,' he said. 'I've had to move furniture around and free up wall space and there are around 60 pieces!

'I've been very impressed with the quality and quantity of the works. Anybody is welcome to contribute.

'I used to work three days a week but I've had to come in six days now because so many people want to come and see the paintings.'

Frances - who is also exhibiting her own work - said several viewers have expressed an interest in buying some of the paintings on show.

'There's a painting of a Sioux Indian chief that's had a lot of interest,' she added. 'And many people are vying for a painting that features Middlewich parish church.'

The exhibition is due to run for two more weeks.
