The police helicopter, dogs unit and uncover officers were involved in a drugs operation targeting an area of scrubland near a Chester housing estate.

A 41-year-old man has subsequently been charged following this morning’s (Friday November 21) operation which took place off Clifton Drive in the Blacon area.

Cheshire Police spokesman George Perfitt said: “A man from the Holywell area has been charged with drug offences following a police operation in Chester this morning. The 41-year-old was charged with two counts of possession of Class A drugs and is due to appear before West Cheshire Magistrates Court on Friday 12 December 2014.

“The arrest was made after officers acting on intelligence from the community targeted an area of wasteland near to Clifton Drive known locally as ‘The Pipe’.”
