Police have issued CCTV images of the terrifying moment armed robbers raided a petrol station in Ellesmere Port.

The three thugs, who all have their faces covered, are shown entering the BP Garage on Overpool Road before brandishing a knife at a member of staff while demanding they open the till.

Police have now issued images of the 'horrifying' robbery, which saw the men make off with a large quantity of cash and left the member of staff badly shaken, sometime between 12.20am -12.30am on Thursday, November 7.

No one was injured in the armed robbery which saw one of the men reach into the till and grab handfuls of cash, before the gang fled down Overpool Road, heading in the direction of Whitby.

Two months after the robbery police have released images and descriptions of the armed robbers in the hope of witnesses coming forward and identifying the offenders.

The first offender is described as white, in his 30s, with short brown shaved hair. He is approximately 5ft 10in and was wearing a grey tracksuit top.

A second offender is described as white, in his late teens and approximately 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in. He was wearing dark clothing.

The third offender is described as white, in his early 20s and approximately 6ft. He was wearing dark clothing.

Police are urging anyone with any information to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number nine of November 7, 2013.
